Clinic/Masterclass

Free* lecture/demonstrations on the various aspects of timpani acoustics/physics, as well a masterclass on head changing and tempering (also known as clearing) are available.  Lecture topics include: “A Look Inside Timpani Pitch,” “Debunking Myths About Timpani Bowls,” “Electronic Tuners: The New School,” “Mastering Clearing Heads: Your X factor,” and “Virtual Pitch and Timpani: Finding the Missing Fundamental” are available. Other topics found in this WEBook can also be addressed by request. These make a great addition to any PAS Day of Percussion or as a supplement to your general percussion curriculum. The head changing/tempering masterclass involves all students in a hands-on workshop environment where each student participates and contributes to the outcome. Guaranteed to be a structured yet fun learning experience for all involved, no matter the participants skill level. Hard copies of this WEBook are given to each masterclass participant.
